UIC Summer Pharmacy Institute has a rolling application process, which will open OCTOBER 1, 2022. Please apply early for the best chance to secure a seat!

About Summer Pharmacy Institute
The Summer Pharmacy Institute (SPI) allows students to explore different areas of the pharmacy profession, including full day workshops devoted to current trends, research, and activities in each of the following focus areas: Hospital, Ambulatory Care, Industry/Research & Development, Community, and Professionalism in the Field. SPI attendees are typically on site from 9-5 PM each day.
Applying for the Program
Applicants will be notified of their status for the program on a rolling basis. Final applications are due on March 1, 2023. If you are selected to participate in SPI 2023, your deposit of $125 will be due within 2 weeks of receiving your offer to participate. This non-refundable deposit will secure your spot in the program!
Final Application Deadline: March 1, 2023. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
Applicants must be at least one of the following:
- Current undergraduate students who have not yet been admitted to a PharmD program
- Students who may have already completed their undergraduate degree but who have not yet been admitted to a PharmD program
- US Citizens/Permanent Residents
It is highly recommended that applicants have taken undergraduate level coursework in biology, chemistry, and/or anatomy & physiology, as well as have a strong interest in the pharmacy career field.
The cost to attend this institute is $125, which will include a t-shirt, lab activity materials and hands-on learning materials for each day.
Because of the generous support of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) with support from the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Foundation, selected students from Boone, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago Counties will be charged $60 to attend the Summer Pharmacy Institute.
We will be covering partial costs for housing at a local hotel in the Rockford area. More details about housing will be provided upon receipt of your application.
